Tony Swain is a Lisburn, Northern Ireland born artist currently living and working in Glasgow. He works with a very limited set of materials, generally everyday newspaper broadsheets as an element painted over in acrylics. He adapts, alters, removes the newsprint words and images to form a new complex set of elements that are elaborately detailed visual juxtaposition. Impossible structures, landscapes, all woven in with the real, gets you a sense of extra dimension of perceiving everything.
